Following a reasonably early wake up call (the sound of a triple thundering past the tent at 7am is a great alarm clock!) we headed down to the race office to sign on and attend the safety briefing. Once this was done we had the outfit safety checked and then we had to be noise tested. This was a first for us as we have never been noise tested. Would we pass?? Yes was the answer with a reading of 103.5db (well under the 105db limit). The action on track was great with many of the stars riding and mixing with the regular Beezumph attendees. A pleasant surprise for us was to learn that David Aldana was going to be riding Richard's bike over the two days. We were honoured to spend time in the company of David along with Gene Romero and many others too. We were scheduled for two track rides each day and duly headed out just before lunch for the first session. Since last weekend we had made a couple of change to the breather system in an attempt to solve what we believed was excess crankcase pressure. On returning to the paddock after the first session we checked the catch tank and although it had some oil in it was not as full as last week.

We were back at Cadwell Park just a few days after our last visit. This time it was a fun couple of days at the Beezumph Rally. This year was going to be extra special as the theme was the Transatlantic Races and many of the riders from both the UK and USA teams were to attend. It was also great to meet up with our good friend and engine builder Richard Darby.

The weather had improved from yesterday and we were all set to have another couple of steady rides. Off we went in race one but sadly this ended for us about half way round on the third lap. Ian tapped Grant on the shoulder and we pulled off at Charlies Out. There was oil on the platform which made it very slippery but more importantly we did not want to put any on the track. At the end of the race we were towed back to the pits and after some discussion decided not to race again until we could sort out the oil / breathing problem. Next week we are taking part in the TR3OC's Beezumph rally so we will have a chance to try out some changes without the pressure of racing.

After what seemed just a few hours sleep we were up and getting the bike ready for scrutineering. No problems to report other than the clutch lever had worked loose which required a quick tighten and all was well. It was soon time for practice and we headed out onto the wonderfully undulating and technical circuit that is Cadwell Park. We ended the session ok but on returning to the van and giving the bike a good check over found a fair amount of oil in the catch tank from the engine breather. We were also told that the marshals had reported seeing smoke from the back of the bike. Oh dear! We gave the bike a thorough check over, emptied the catch tank and got ready for the first race of the day. The race went ok but it was clear we were both a little rusty due to the long lay off! However we finished the race in 6th position with a reasonable lap time too. The second race was not to be. Not due to any mechanical problems but the almost monsoon conditions! The rain was so heavy that no racing took place for around 2 hours so the day's schedule was thrown in to chaos. The resulting reshuffle resulted in all classes only having one outing each.

We managed to get the oil tank welded and we collected it from our good friend Buster on the way to Cadwell Park. We were very excited about this weekend as it was out first race for a long time following all our problems. We arrived at the circuit at around 11pm so only had time to pitch the tent and get some sleep.
