Following the thread pulling on the barrel and subsequent discovery of the bores wearing oval again
work is now taking place to sort this and the engine is back out the chassis and on the bench. A new barrel is going to be
used but it must be a specially made one that offers a greater strength than the standard due to the big bore and stroked
crank that we are using. The cylinder head has been dismantled and vapour blasted to make it look like new again. We are looking
at testing again very early June as we are keen to attend a classic meeting at Croix in France in the middle
of the month.

As you can see from the image above we have now taken delivery of our new cylinder barrel. This has
been beautifully crafted for us by Pretech. It is going to be fitted to the engine during the first week of June when our engine builder, and very
good friend, Richard Darby will be visiting us to carry out the work. The time frame is tight but we are confident we will majke it!

On Thursday 29th January we took the chassis to a powdercoating firm to have the chassis stripped of
its existing powdercoat. Once this was done a primer coat was applied and upon this drying 3 or 4 small cracks have been found!
These have been expertly repaired and the decision has been made to run the frame bare. This will involve a fair amount of
work keeping the appearance up and rust at bay! The new breather system has been fully installed and so far with limited testing
looks to be working great.

There is still plenty of work to do and this page will be updated with our progress.
